Business Note: The Difference between affiliate marketing and referral marketing

To get to the point we will have to explain what affiliate marketing is, in addition we will need to explain what referral marketing is. To start off with, you will learn about affiliate marketing. When you own a company or organization that needs to be promoted or marketed you can use people to refer other people to use your website, or offline business. This is a marketing strategy that have been proven, tried and tested, and it is an easy way of generating more daily sales. The thing with affiliate marketing is that when you make a sale through one of you affiliates you will need to pay that person a percentage of what you have made on the sale. The going rate for affiliates doing affiliate marketing nowadays is about 20 - 60 percent of the item price. Most of the time companies will start affiliates on a 20 percent commission and move them up when the sales starts picking up. An affiliate program is a must if you are looking to generate traffic for your site and heighten your daily sales.

Referral marketing, as apposed to affiliate marketing, is the cheapest method of sales and marketing and companies and organization the world over are adopting this priceless sales method. Many of these companies will admit that since they have adopted the referral marketing method their sales have gone up by more than 60 percent and is still growing. To describe referral marketing to you, it is safe to say that it is a way of using your current clients to generate a new database of clients for you and your company. To have a successful referral marketing plan you need lots of business cards and loyal clients you can hand you business cards out to. In turn you client will take your cards and hand them out to close friends and family, and for any successful referral they make they will get paid $20. You could even take this a bit further and motivate these people by offering $5 for every referral they make and an extra $20 for every referral you sign up. This way they will be more careful when referring people to your company. This method work best for sales and marketing, the reason being that people trust friends and family when it comes to business, so you will always be getting trusted leads.

There is only one difference between referral marketing and affiliate marketing that is that online affiliate marketers get paid on a commission basis for each person they refer. Whereas referral marketers get paid a set amount for every referral they make or every referral they bag and tag for your company. This is a slight difference and is considered this because when you adopt the referral marketing method of sales you can offer many thing other than money to the people you use for referrals, like shopping vouchers, discounts on a meal, prizes, or you could even go as far as turning it into a competition, which makes affiliate marketing a more developed version of referral marketing.

一夜暴富是好事？

中六合彩頭獎是很多人的夢想，但年紀輕輕就一夜致富又是否是好事呢？让我们来查看真实案例。

例子[1]：現年29歲的唐納利（Stuart Donnelly），一度是英國最年輕國家彩票頭獎得主，12年前贏得200萬鎊（約馬幣1078萬令吉）彩金，唐納利中獎後即捨下他週薪60鎊（約馬幣323令吉）的藥劑實習生工作，放棄正在修讀的藥劑課程，開始“大花筒”生活。他請朋友到泰國旅行、花約48萬令吉買下大屋給已離婚的母親居住，並為自己買下豪華別墅，照顧患有小兒麻痺症的父親，又向醫治他患有基因錯亂弟弟的醫院捐款約7萬8000令吉，至於向叔伯輩贈錢更是等閒。此後疑因抵受不住暴發壓力，多年來活得不開心，最後更變成隱蔽青年，週四（1月7日）被發現死於蘇格蘭家中，遺下本於數週後與他結婚的未婚妻。

例子[2]：英國女孩羅傑斯（Callie Rogers）2003年僅16歲時，贏得190萬鎊（約馬幣1024萬令吉）彩金後，開始揮金如土的生活，為自己和家人買了4棟房子，花了30多萬鎊旅行，又買車、買禮物、幫親朋還債。6年多過去，她曾沉淪毒海並花了許多獎金在毒品上，並因感情等問題試過3次自殺，生活得極不快樂。現在的羅傑斯已幾近破產，她賣掉了房子，搬回與母親同住，同時打三份工。她坦言：“我寧願從來沒中過獎”

例子[3]：英國失業漢伍德（Doug Wood）1996年中了3280萬港元（約馬幣1423萬令吉）彩票，7年後大部份彩金被賭掉或送給他人，他最後猝死家中。

例子[4]：西班牙人卡爾沃瓦斯在2003年贏得近4771萬令吉，中彩後買大屋、3輛名車，還開了農業機械公司，但生意失敗欠下巨債，去年初自殺身亡。

例子[5]：英國前保安員羅伯特斯（John Roberts）1998年贏得4330萬港元（約馬幣1878萬令吉），一度擁有40架車，但最終揮霍過度，住所被銀行收回，婚姻破裂，現還欠債2萬鎊（約馬幣10萬7800令吉），要住流動房屋。

例子[6]：中國湖南74歲男子黃祝人3年前中了400萬元人民幣（約馬幣197萬令吉）大獎，將300萬（約馬幣148萬令吉）給了女兒，後來他投資侄子的生意失敗，希望女兒還一些給他被拒，兩人打起官司。

中国新社會現象 — "裸婚”風潮

（中國‧北京）近幾年中國房價飆漲，1980年代出生的“80後”年屆30仍只能望屋興嘆，終於死心，興起一片“先結婚、再置房、共創業”的“裸婚”（結婚時幾乎一無所有）風潮。

新華社報導，今年已是2010年，首批生於1980年代、所謂“80後”的青年，開始進入“30而立”，意味著談婚論嫁、成家立業。

近60%人買不起房宅

但據中國媒體報導，在近萬名即將年滿30歲的受訪職場人中，月收入根本買不起都市房宅的佔59.8%，其中，無房無車的受訪青年更高達47.9%。

面對適婚年齡將近卻買不起新房的現實，許多中國“80後”正改變傳統“先安居、再樂業”的婚姻模式，對於結婚時房子、車子能否“一步到位”不太在意，以更加務實的姿態規劃今後夫妻倆的長遠發展。

新社會現象層出不窮

對於這種被稱為“裸婚”的新現象，華中師範大學社會學院性別社會學教授祝平燕認為，中國社會日益物質化，“裸婚”讓很多年輕人意識到，物質並不是決定婚姻的最重要因素，夫妻要透過一起打拼來共同追求幸福生活，“從某種角度看，這也是‘裸婚’所帶來的積極意義”。

相對於佔多數的“裸婚族”，在中國，有房有車但就是不肯結婚的“不婚族”、婚後享受兩人世界不願生孩子的“頂客族”等新社會現象也層出不窮，過去“男大當婚、女大當嫁”、“不孝有三，無後為大”等固有觀念逐漸被打破。

女性理財七大致命傷

Multiple streams of passive income means having more than one stream of income, in passive residual income form.

Multiple streams of passive income not only act as a good resources to achieve financial freedom, it is also part of the process to be retire young retire rich.

Why Multiple streams of passive income

First of all, to understand why it is better to have multiple streams of passive income is because passive residual income is a more preferred income.

And according to law of normality, non of the rich people I know survive on a “job”.

Secondly, when we are talking about “multiple streams”, it means the income source may vary. This is good as when accident happens to one of the income streams, the income will still coming in even though not as much as when all income streams function properly. So, having multiple streams of passive income is a kind of diversification and reducing risk of having no income at all.

Thirdly, having multiple streams of passive income means the total amount of income may be much more than just having one income stream that is not producing much income. Unless the only income producing stream generates the income in such a huge amount that you don’t need to look for multiple streams of passive income, which does not happen to most of the ordinary people.

Multiple streams of passive income

There are four major battlefield to have your multiple streams of passive income, which are Business, Paper Assets, Real Estates, and Virtual Properties.

In businesses, we receive passive income as a business owner when the business is on track and generating good profit. This is a huge topic and we shall cover it in our upcoming postings.

These articles will cover a little bit more business info in a wider range from checklist for starting a new business, how to start a petting zoo business to sample letter of business closure.

In paper assets, we could have multiple streams of passive income via stock markets, money markets, commodity market, and other financial products related income channel.

In real estates, we could have our passive income streams through the rental we collect, even if we are still serving the property loan, as long as the rental received is more than to cover the maintenance and the property loan.

In virtual properties, we could setup a website or multiple websites and make money from advertising dollars, affiliate programs, resale rights virtual products distribution, and even with our own digital products.

In summary, multiple streams of passive income can shorten the period to retire young retire rich.

（吉隆坡）大馬股市持續上漲了6至9個月，投資者將轉往投資房地產，預料明年大馬的房地產價格將會漲價20%。

大馬房地產發展商公會副會長任廣財說，根據此公會2009年下半年房地產調查報告指出，有55%的發展商認為，明年房地產價格將調高，漲幅高達20%；另外30%發展商認為價格維持不變，只有不超過5%發展商認為價格會降低。

他表示，售價介於10萬至25萬令吉的房地產，依然有很高的需求量。

他週四（12月17日）在公佈有關報告的記者會上指出，大部份受訪的發展商認為，2010年下半年後才能完全復甦，預料農曆新年後將有不少發展商陸續推出新房屋計劃。

30%發展商：價格不變

“對房地產有利因素包括銀行利息持續降低、高達100%借貸、豁免產業印花稅及高達30年或至75歲的貸款償還期等。”

他說，2009年的房產平均交易價為20萬至25萬令吉，若包括廉價屋，房地產平均交易價格為16萬8000令吉。

“剛畢業的年輕人在城市購屋將面對一定的問題，巴生河流域一帶的雙層排屋價格一般為40萬令吉，而郊外地區如居鑾及關丹的雙層排屋價格大約20萬令吉。”

他表示，年輕人每月收入3至4000令吉，只能借貸15萬至20萬令吉，根本無法買到雙層排屋，卻可以購買公寓。

News below is another proof of many of the investment scams out there.

還我錢來‧萬五人投資千萬‧餐館直銷無回酬

（吉隆坡）約50名公眾申訴，他們參與知名本土餐館“餐飲預付卡配套”，共拿出高達數十萬令吉投資，並曾獲得“廣告費”作為回酬。但是，他們在過去半年內不僅沒有獲得回酬，還發現餐館分店逐間關閉，令他們擔心血本無歸。
這間歷史悠久並擁有多間分行的本土風味餐館，以疑似直銷計劃的手法牟利，但貿消部並未接獲這間餐館公司申請直銷業執照，因此懷疑餐館違反直銷法令。貿消部長依斯邁沙比利已下令總監及官員調查。
截至目前，全國各地可能有約1萬5000人參與這家餐館的配套，投資額甚至超過數千萬令吉。
一批自稱“受害者行動委員會”的成員，今日（週日，12月20日）在民主行動黨武吉免登區國會議員方貴倫陪同下召開記者會，敘說事件的來龍去脈。他們高舉寫著“還我血汗錢”的布條，並高喊“還我血汗錢”的口號，以示不滿。
委員會主席周大偉指出，這家餐館是於去年4月推出餐飲配套，引起公眾注意，並簽約投資。

貿消部長下令徹查
他指出，大部份投資者因信賴這家餐館在飲食業擁有超過30年的經驗，再加上合約上聲明可在兩年內取回成本及回酬，更添增投資者的信心。
他說，餐館推出各種不同的多層次配套，投資額從400至4萬令吉不等，以吸引不同階層的公眾集資投資，甚至介紹給更多下線參與，以獲得更多“廣告費”。
“餐館提供投資者預付卡，投資者可在預付卡存入現款積分，一令吉換取一分，然後在餐館任何分店享用食物，再刷卡扣除分數。”

擁有多間分行
他聲稱，這家餐館在雪隆一代擁有多間分行，包括在雙威廣場、谷中城廣場、武吉免登區、安邦及士毛月佳世客等。
“預付卡計劃進行順利，我們也收到部份回酬，不過直到今年7月，我們卻無法收取任何回酬了，後來還發現餐館分店逐一關閉，只剩下谷中城的分店。”

逼投資者繳更多現款
委員會主席周大偉聲稱，他曾向餐館負責人瞭解情況，對方表示因市面上偽造預付卡泛濫，因此銀行凍結餐館的戶頭調查，並承諾投資者在3個月內將獲得回酬。
他說，不料，餐館負責人在3個月後通知投資者推出“餐館合併計劃”，並說服他們投資另一筆款項。
他表示，負責人宣稱，投資者若前往餐館用餐付賬時，僅獲扣除預付卡內20%現金限額，其餘80%需用現款繳付。
“這意味著我們必須投資及繳付更多現款，這與合作條約不一樣。”
他指出，這個變化令投資者進退兩難，他們既無法取回投資金，還需繳付更大筆款項，他們擔心血本無歸。

部落格貼文通知計劃停止
記者瀏覽這家餐館的直銷配套部落格時發現，早在去年11月7日，部落格最後一篇文章是通知所有會員，指所有計劃都停止，原因是公司進行重組。
根據部落格顯示，這間公司在推出配套時強調這“不是直銷或快速致富”計劃，並指這是合法的雙贏計劃。

方貴倫：疑沒直銷執照
民主行動黨武吉免登區國會議員方貴倫向貿消部查詢後，發現餐館公司並無申請直銷業執照，疑已違反直銷法令。
他已安排委員會代表向第二財長拿督斯里阿末胡斯尼、內政部長拿督斯里希山慕丁及貿消部長拿督依斯邁沙比利在國會投訴此事。
“貿消部長已諭令貿消部總監及官員調查案件，以阻止類似案件再次發生。”

貸款投資遭銀行追債
受害者委員會秘書李梅花聲稱，許多投資者因信賴這家餐館在餐飲業超過30年經驗，才將多年來的血汗錢投資給餐飲計劃，有者甚至向銀行貸款投資，如今不但沒獲得應得的回報，甚至還被銀行追債。
她指出，這家餐館的預付卡計劃所有賬目都是透過銀行戶頭過賬，為投資者帶來便利，但如今發生不愉快事件，投資者卻沒有保障。
“我們都是小市民，當中有人面對家庭及經濟問題，我們也明白目前要取回資金的機會微薄，但我們所強調地是，這並不是餐館做生意的正當手法。”
委員之一的賴華芝則呼吁全國各地的投資者應停止繳付資金作投資，以避免蒙受更大的損失。

貸款4.5萬月還2500
35歲的邱金英為投資在餐飲配套上，前後向銀行貸款借貸約4萬5000令吉，目前不但取回投資成本，還欠債纍纍，遭銀行追討債款。
她激動地說，目前她必須每月繳還2500令吉的貸款，以她會計書記微薄的薪水，根本無法攤還這筆款項。
“我好不容易地向國家銀行求情，申請到10年分期攤還所有的貸款，無論再辛苦，我都會還清這筆貸款！但餐飲公司是否又肯退回錢給我呢？”

餐館業者回應
妥善安排確保會員利益
餐館市場董事經理黃先生接受《星洲日報》訪問時指出，由於公司面臨虧損，但這間公司已盡力作出妥善安排，讓所有會員手中所持有的預付卡分數在市面上仍存有價值。
他聲稱，目前會員們的預付卡分數仍是“一令吉代表一個積分”，在公司面臨虧損後，他們目前已找到合作伙伴，因此市面上仍有公司承認這筆分數，不至於讓會員蒙受虧損。
“我們已做妥善安排，儘量保障會員的利益；另外，在公司安排下，會員可將原有計劃轉為另一間公司的配套。”
他聲稱，公司已將這項消息放在專屬網頁上，讓所有會員瞭解真實情況。
“我瞭解未必所有會員都能接受這種轉變，但公司已盡力為會員爭取最佳利益了，因為市面上其他餐飲公司也不能完全接受我們之前定下的配套。”

否認屬直銷計劃
詢及這間公司是否擁有直銷執照時，黃先生表明不願詳談。
他也否認這項計劃是一項直銷計劃，只聲稱是會員以購買“餐飲券”
方式進行，不是所謂地投資。
他解釋，會員可通過推銷餐廳及介紹會員，是獲得“廣告費”。
他以此課題存有“灰色地帶”，拒絕進一步詳談。

Daniel Dea Yik Hwa (born April 19, 1988) is a resource integration's entrepreneur and business education's official author. Daniel Dea Yik Hwa is best known for his creative and innovative resource integration strategies and individual development planning.
He is studying Food Studies (Service&Management) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in Malaysia. He will graduate on year 2011.
In his university’s life, he was active in various activities and he is well known as the student leader in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He was the member of UPM student representative council 2008/09 and Chairman of Food Fair UPM 2009.

吕羽华[出生于1988年4月19日；柔佛，马来西亚]，资源整合企业家与Business Education官方指定作者。吕羽华擅长于企业资源整合与个人模式规划。吕羽华修读食物研究与管理于博特拉大学（Universiti Putra Malaysia）并将于2011年毕业。
